India makes new peace gestures with Pakistan

    NEW DELHI, Dec. 31 (Xinhuanet)-- India has proposed talks with Pakistan to ease restrictions on diplomats and start bus services on new routes between the two nations, the foreign ministry said Wednesday.

    The announcement comes just four days before Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is due to make a rare trip to Islamabad for a South Asian regional summit. Enditem
