MANILA, Dec. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- The deposed former Philippine President Joseph Estrada was allowed Tuesday by the anti-graft court Sandiganbayan to leave for the United States for medical treatment, a local television reported.

Estrada was allowed to stay in the United States for three months, and it is not clear whether Estrada will accept the court's decision, the ABS-CBN news channel reported.

Estrada was overwhelmed in a People's Power Revolution in January, 2001 for allegedly corruption, and the then vice-President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo was declared president. Enditem
