Blair says Libya agrees to give up WMD

    LONDON, Dec. 19 (Xinhuanet) -- British Prime Minister Tony Blair said Friday that Libya had agreed to give up its weapons of mass destruction and he expressed his welcome to the decision.

    Blair said in a television address that Britain had been negotiating over banned weapons with Tripoli.

    "As a result, Libya has now declared its intention to dismantleits weapons of mass destruction," he said, adding that the actionsentitled Libya to "rejoin the international community." Enditem
