OTTAWA, Dec. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien vowed here on Thursday the two countries would further deepen their relations through joint efforts.

During a meeting with Chretien, Wen raised several proposals for stronger ties between the two countries, and Chretien said the Canadian government fully agreed to them, according to a press release from the Chinese delegation.

Wen proposed that contacts and exchange at all levels be continued and a ministerial coordinating mechanism be set up to discuss strategic issues including political and economic relations. Enditem
