Former vice-governor of Anhui questioned for taking bribes

    BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Wang Huaizhong, former vice-governor of Anhui Province, was questioned Wednesday at a court hearing in the Intermediate People's Court of Jinan City, Shandong Province, on suspicion of taking bribes and possessing money unable to be accounted for its source.

    Wang took bribes valued at 5.17 million yuan (623,000 US dollars) from 1994 to 2001 and possessed wealth of 4.8 million yuan that he could not account for, according to the charges of the prosecution.

    About 120 people from the public attended the hearing. Enditem
