CAIRO, Dec. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- An inter-Palestinian
dialogue began in the Egyptian capital on Thursday, with emphasis on the
possibility of reaching a new truce with Israel.
Representatives of 12 Palestini an factions attended
the opening ceremony of the week-long talks and another Palestinian delegation
will join in the talks later in the day, a Palestinian source told Xinhua.
According to the sources, Palestinian Prime Minister
Ahmed Qurei is expected to take part in the last two days of the talks to press
for tangible results.
Under Egyptian mediation, Palestinian militant groups
agreed in late June to suspend their anti-Israel attacks for three months.
But the unilateral ceasefire collapsed following
Israel's killing of Abu Shanab, a senior official of the Palestinian
Islamicresistance movement Hamas, in late August.
