MADRID, Nov. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- King Juan Carlos of Spain expressed his grief Saturday over the death of seven secret service agents in an ambush in southern Iraq.

The king kept permanent contact with Defense Minister Federico Trillo and the Director of the National Intelligence Center, Jorge Dezcallar, after the event.

The deaths brought the toll of Spaniards to 10 since the beginning of the war in Iraq last March.

The deceased agents belonged to the National Intelligence Center. One of the agents survived the ambush and was taken to hospital.

King Juan Carlos communicated his sympathies to the relatives of the killed agents. Enditem
