MANILA, Nov. 25 (Xinhuanet) -- A World War II bomb exploded Tuesday morning at a construction site inside the Philippine General Hospital compound in Manila where excavation work was in progress.

Workers might have accidentally triggered the explosion, the ABS-CBN on-line news quoted security guard Jerry Ablon as saying.

Authorities have yet to determine if people were hurt by the blast.

Several World War II artillery shells were found in the hospital compound before. Enditem
