Georgian defense chief says no order received to use force

    MOSCOW, Nov. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Georgian Defense Minister David Tevzadze said on Sunday that he had received no orders from President Eduard Shevardnadze to use force against the opposition.

    "The army has not received orders from the commander general (Shevardnadze) to use force... The army is paying a lot of attention to the events and is ready to stop the escalation of chaos and to fulfill its responsibility," Tevzadze was quoted as saying by reports reaching here. Enditem
