NEW DELHI, Nov. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- At least 25 people were injured when a bomb ripped through a mosque at Parbhani in Marathwada region of Maharashtra state on Friday, Minister of State for Home Kripashankar Singh said in Bumbai.

The blast occurred at Mohamadia mosque when the religious congregation was dispersing after offering the Friday "namaz," Singh told the Press Trust of India.

The blast took place at 1:50 p.m., triggering panic and tension in the area, police were quoted as saying.

Security in the area has been stepped up and State Reserve Police Force companies have been deployed in the area, Singh added. Enditem
