BAGHDAD, Nov. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- A US soldier was killed when a roadside bomb detonated under his vehicle in northern Iraq late Tuesday, the US military said on Wednesday.
The attack took place at 11 p.m. (2100 GMT) on a road north of Baghdad, a military spokeswoman told reporters in Tikrit, 170 km north of the capital.
The death brings to 154 the number of US soldiers killed by hostile fire in Iraq since US President George W. Bush declared the major combat over on May 1. Enditem |
