Iran's motion of delaying vote on cloning adopted

  UNITED NATIONS, Nov. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- The UN General Assembly's legal committee (6th committee) decided Thursday not to go ahead with a highly contentious vote on human cloning, just adopted Iran's motion of delaying it for two years.

  The motion of no action received 80 votes in favor with 79 nations voting against it.

  On behalf of the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference, Iran proposed a motion not to vote on the challenging drafts banning all forms of human cloning, or just the cloning of babies, which badly divided the 191-nation assembly. Enditem
