HANOI, Nov. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- More than 400 pupils in Vietnam's southern province of Dong Thap were hospitalized on Wednesday due to food poisoning, according to a report of local newspaper Saigon Liberation on Thursday.

After drinking milk and eating cakes under the Nutrition Program for School children, the pupils showed symptoms of stomachache, quick pulse, physical weakness, and vomiting.

Local health authorities said that the poisoning might have been caused by the milk, and that they were collecting milk samples for inspection before giving the final conclusion.

Vietnam has reported 3,100 food poisoning suffers, including 29 fatalities in the first 10 months of this year. Enditem
