DHAKA, Nov. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- A Bangladeshi man in northeastern Kishoreganj claims he holds a copy of the smallest size of the Islam's holy book, the Quran, collected 100 years ago by his grandfather.
The daily Janakantha (People's Voice) on Tuesday reported that Moniruzzaman Khan Chowdhury of Kishoreganj town said he owns a copy of the Islam's holy book, the Quran, the size of which is 2.5centimeters in length, 1.75 centimeters wide and one centimeter inheight.
He claimed that the copy is the smallest in size of the holy book in the world.
Moniruzzaman, who is a local journalist, said his grandfather, who was the last zaminder (landlord) of Madan sub-district of the northeastern Netrokona district, collected the copy of the Islam'sholy book about 100 years ago.
The copy has been preserved in a metallic box and there is a high power magnifying class on the box through which the Quran could be read, Moniruzzaman added. Enditem |
