BAGHDAD, Oct. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- At least one person was killed in an explosion that triggered a big fire in central Baghdad late Thursday, Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV channel reported.
An exclusive footage aired by the Arab channel showed a two-storied shop at the Rashid Street engulfed by flames which spread to adjacent buildings.
The street is crowded with rows of shops selling stationary,antiques and various commodities.
US troops have cordoned off the area, where firemen were tryingto control the fire.
It was not clear what caused the explosion, as lootings, arson,resistant attacks and terrorist bombings were rampant following the downfall of Saddam Hussein in April.
Baghdad has been harried by explosions since five suicide bombings rocked the capital city on Monday. Many of the blasts heard everyday could not be determined or confirmed. Enditem
