ASMARA, Oct. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- A total of 3,000 metric tons of maize arrived
in Eritrea Wednesday as part of the humanitarian donation from the Chinese
government.
The donation was made to reduce the current famine which is affecting over
80 percent of the country's 3.5 million population.
The East African nation has been experiencing a drought for months, the
worst in the past decade.
Chinese Ambassador to Eritrea Huang Yongan handed over the donation to the
Eritrean Grain Board at the port city of Massawa. Enditem
