UNITED NATIONS, Oct. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- The United Nations General Assembly adopted on Tuesday a resolution that urged Israel to stop the construction of the separation wall in the occupied Palestinian territory in a 144-4 vote with 12 abstentions.

The resolution called the wall "in departure of the Armistice Line of 1949 and is in contradiction to relevant provision of international law."

The resolution expressed the concern that the wall "could prejudge future negotiations and make the two-State solution physically impossible to implement and would cause further humanitarian hardship to the Palestinians." Enditem
