BEIJING, Oct. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- It is China's pride to accomplish such achievements
as the successful launch of the Shenzhou-5 spacecraft, said Nobel Physics
Prize Winner Samuel Chao Chung Ting here Tuesday.
Ting, a world-famous Chinese-American physicist, made this statement at a
forum held by China's Foreign Affairs College.
At his lecture on seeking antimatter in space, Ting discussed his research
project on an updated version of a high energy particle detector called Alpha
Magnetic Spectrometer for the International Space Station.
Ting said this research project, involving scientists from the United
States, China and many other countries, will be the only science experiment on
the International Space Station, and the device will be used to detect such high
energy particles as antimatter to explore the secrets of the universe. Enditem
