MANILA, Oct. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- US President George W. Bush arrivedhere Saturday amid tight security for an eight-hour visit, widely seen as a move to thank President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for her all-out support in the US-led anti-terror campaign and the Iraq war.

During his brief visit, Bush will hold talks with Arroyo on security and economic cooperation and address a special joint session of the Philippine Congress.

The Philippine National Police has deployed more than 11,000 personnel to secure Manila during Bush's visit. Enditem
