MOSCOW, Oct. 15 (Xinhuanet) -- A Russian submarine fired a ballistic missile
on Wednesday from the country's northwestern White Sea to fulfill a combat
training plan, Interfax reported.
The ballistic missile blasted off from the nuclear underwater cruiser
Arkhangelsk of the Northern Fleet at 2:00 p.m. Moscow time,said Captain Igor
Dygalo, aide to the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy.
The warhead of the missile successfully hit the planned target at the Kura testing
ground in the Kamchatka Peninsular in Russia's Far East.
Admiral Vladimir Kuroyedov, commander-in-chief of the Russian Navy, has
praised the crew of the submarine on their professionalism in performing the
