¡¡¡¡The Ministry of Foreign Trade and
Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) announced its final arbitration over imported
Purified Anhydride (PA) originating in the Republic of Korea, Japan and India
(hereinafter referred to as ¡°investigated product¡±) and decided to levy
anti-dumping tax of the product in its Notice No. 40 on August 31, 2003.
¡¡¡¡In respond to an appeal from domestic industry, MOFTEC started an
investigation on investigated product and decided to take temporary measures on
January 1, 2003.
¡¡¡¡Approved by First Conference of Tenth National
People¡¯s Congress, the Ministry of Commerce carried out anti-dumping
investigation. According to the investigation and Anti-dumping Regulations of
the People¡¯s Republic of China, Ministry of Commerce made final arbitration that
dumping of the investigated product had taken place, it had caused substantive
damage to China¡¯s industries and there was a direct causal relationship between
the dumping and the damage.
¡¡¡¡According to the Notice, importers should
pay anti-dumping tax at different rate (from 0% to 66%) to General
Administration of Customs of the People¡¯s Republic of China with effect from
August 31, 2003 for a period of 5 years. Enditem
