ĦĦĦĦUNITED NATIONS, Oct. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- France, Russia and Germany on Tuesday offered an amendment to the United States draft resolution on Iraq, which urged a further clarified United Nations role and timetable for the country's political process.

ĦĦĦĦIn a "joint approach" obtained by Xinhua, the Governing Council installed by the United States are "principal bodies" of the Iraqi interim administration, which will, "without prejudice to its further evolution," embody the sovereignty of the State of Iraq during the transitional period.
