Four die while repairing waste water containers
www.chinaview.cn 2003-10-06 23:32:15

HANGZHOU, Oct. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Four workers have died of poisonous fumes while repairing waste water containers on Sunday afternoon in a cutting tool company in a town in Wenzhou, east China's Zhejiang Province.

Two of the victims were from a factory producing environmental-protection equipment and were asked by the company to repair four leaking containers for carrying waste water in a plating workshop.

The two passed out while repairing the fourth container as there was still waste residue left in the container though it had been emptied of chromium waste water.

The other two victims were from the cutting tool company. They rushed to the plating workshop to help the repairers, but also passed out and were killed by the poisonous gas.

An investigation into the incident is underway. Enditem
