PORTLAND, United States, Oct. 1 (Xinhuanet) -- China midfielder Pan Lina will undergo
a surgery on her injured left knee in Los Angeles on Thursday, just hours
before her national teammates play against Canada in the Women's World Cup
soccer quarter-finals at Portland's PGE Park.
Pan, who sustained the injury in China's 1-0 win over Ghana in their first Group
D match, told reporters in a telephone interview that the operation will be
performed 1:30 pm in a Los Angeles hospital.
"I was told that it will be a minor surgery and last only three hours," Pan
said.
The 26-year-old, who has won 83 caps for her country, pulled a ligament in
her knee and will rest for at least four months.
It was revealed by Nan Yong, vice president of China Football Association,
that the surgery will cost 12,000 U.S. dollars. Enditem |
