BAGHDAD, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Three rocket-propelled
grenades were fired early Saturday at a hotel in central Baghdad currently used
by the US-led coalition provisional authority (CPA), witnessessaid.
Residents in the area said the grenades were fired in the direction of the
al-Rashid hotel and the nearby CPA press center inthe Convention Center.
A coalition spokesman said the attacks were launched at about 6:30 a.m.
local time (0230 GMT). But it was not clear if there were any casualties.
The al-Rashid hotel, which was taken over by American forces when they
captured Baghdad in April, houses many US military officials and civilians
