No foreign agency permitted to launch anti-terrorist action in Pakistan

  ISLAMABAD, Sept. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Not a single corner or any area of Pakistan has been handed over to any foreign agency to launch any operation against terrorists, Interior Minister Makhdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat was Wednesday quoted by the Associated Press of Pakistan as saying.

  Talking to newsmen, the interior minister, however, said cooperation at global level to fight against terrorism is needed and Pakistan is a close ally to the world in the fight against terrorism and this mission will continue in future on the same pattern.

  He said there is no pressure on Pakistan from any country to launch operation against al-Qaida in northern areas.

  The minister said maintaining peace and improving law and ordersituation in the country is the supreme responsibility of the government and that secure and peaceful atmosphere has also improved the confidence of the people in government.

  He said on the security issue, the Interior Ministry has been strictly monitoring the situation of the country and the weekly performance of all the agencies and departments. Enditem
