BANGKOK, Sept. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra on
Tuesday instructed concerned government agencies to keep close watch of any
group suspected of being involved in terrorists activities, local press reported
on Wednesday.
He was quoted as telling the National Security Council and the Immigration
Police Bureau to blacklist any foreign groups that useThai territory to plan
attacks against their home countries.
Thailand would never allow any rebel group active on its land to plot
against a foreign government, the prime minister reportedly said at the weekly
cabinet meeting.
"The prime minister has instructed the authorities concerned tokeep a close
watch on those kinds of groups and to blacklist them so that they can't enter
Thai territory," The Nation quoted government spokesman Sita Divari as saying.
This was the Thai government's latest move in the fight againstterrorism.
Bangkok will hold the Asia Pacific Economic
Cooperation summit in October, when world leaders from 21 economies would come
here to attend the meeting. Enditem
