BANGKOK, Sept. 16, (Xinhuanet) -- Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra Tuesday ordered the government to consider blacklisting anyone using Thailand as a base from which to oppose the governments of neighboring countries.

Sita Divari, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, was quoted by Thai News Agency as saying that the prime minister had asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Security Council and the Immigration Bureau to consider blacklisting anyonewho engage in activities opposing the governments of neighboring countries while based in Thailand.

The prime minister expressed the necessity to announce clearly that such people are not welcome in Thailand, the spokesman said.

The prime minister also supported plans to refuse visas to anyone thought to oppose neighboring governments, in a bid to strengthen relations with neighbor nations and thus contribute to prosperity in the region, the spokesman added. Enditem
