KABUL, Sept. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- Afghan Education Minister Mohammad Yunus Qanooni on Sunday rejected the allegatons about human rightsviolation put by The Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC).

Talking to reporters here, the Afghan minister described AIHRC's allegation as "political assassination."

AIHRC, in its report issued on Saturday, accused Defense Minister Marshal Mohammad Qasim Fahim, Education Minister MohammadYunus Qanooni, Kabul Security Chief General Basir Salangi and other dignitaries of occupying lands illegally in Shir Poor district centre of Kabul.

United Nations special rapporteur on Human Rights, Meloon Kothari also in his report released last week blamed the defense minister and education minister as offenders.

Kothari in his report wrote that the mentioned ministers and officials occupied the land of Shir Poor district and dispossessedthe residents from their houses, whom had used to live there 25 to30 years.

Rejecting the whole report, Qanooni contended that he neither violated the law nor occupied the land illegally.

"For the last 23 years, I struggled for freedom and human rights," he asserted.

He further said that Kothari's report not only surprised the Afghan government functionaries but also in the meantime was rejected by UN representative to Afghanistan Lakhdar Brahimi.

Meanwhile, president of Afghanistan central Bank, Anwarulhaq Ahadi refuted his involvement in occupying any land through legal procedure.

"I have never violated human rights in my political life and the inclusion of my name in the report is a character assassination," he stressed. Endtiem
