¡¡¡¡SINGAPORE, Sept. 9 (Xinhuanet) -- A total of 25 people have been quarantined after a SARS case was confirmed in Singapore, the health authorities said on Tuesday.

¡¡¡¡Those in home quarantine are the patient's relatives and fellow patients at the Singapore General Hospital, the health ministry said.

¡¡¡¡The ministry confirmed on the same day that a 27-year-old man had contracted SARS.

¡¡¡¡Acting Health Minister Khaw Boon Wan told reporters at a news conference "It appears to be a single isolated case and the patient is currently isolated at the Communicable Disease Center."

¡¡¡¡Khaw said the man had no recent travel history and no known contact with any SARS patients.

¡¡¡¡Khaw said he thought the man posed a "low public health risk" because he was isolated quickly. Enditem
