BAGHDAD, Sept. 7 (Xinhuanet) -- A tape recording purportedly from Al-Qaida
terror network denied on Sunday any link to a double-car bombing which killed
Iraqi Shiite leader Ayatollah Baquer Mohammed al-Hakim.
In the tape broadcast by Dubai-based al-Arabiya TV channel, a voice claimed
to be of a member of the terror group said his network had nothing to do with
the attack.
The deadly bomb attack also killed 82 of al-Hakim's followers and wounded
hundreds on Aug. 29 in Najaf, 180 km south of Iraqi capital city of Baghdad.
Iraqi police has said some suspects they arrested after the bombing attack
had association with al-Qaida, the terror group alleged to have plotted the
massive attacks on America on Sept. 11,2001. Enditem
