NEW YORK, Sept. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Second-seeded Justine Henin-Hardenne beat her top-seeded compatriot and world number one Kim Clijsters 7-5, 6-1 in the women's singles final at the U.S. Open here on Saturday.

It was the second Grand Slam crown of the year for Henin-Hardenne, who also beat Clijsters in June's French Open final for her first Slam title.

Henin-Hardenne took advantage of too many unforced errors by Clijsters and broke Clijsters three times in each set. She won the match in just 81 minutes.

The victory improved Henin-Hardenne's career head-to-head record against Clijsters to 8-8. But Henin-Hardenne won four of their last five meetings. Enditem
