GAZA, Sept. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- The armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) said Saturday it would carryout an attack that Israel had never witnessed in revenge for its attempt to assassinate Hamas founder and spiritual leader Sheikh Ahmed Yassin.

The Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades said in a leaflet distributed in Gaza and the West Bank that it had instructed all its militants to attack Israeli targets anywhere in the world and by all available means.

Israel's attempt to kill Yassin would be revenged soon, the group said, adding that the revenge for "the Israeli crime" would be "extraordinary."

"We instructed all our acting military cells in the Palestinian territories to be on alert and plan attacks to hit the enemy everywhere by all means," the Hamas armed wing said."This crime to try to kill the head of the political pyramid of Hamas movement and the symbol for all Arabs as well as his aide Isma'el Haneya by F-16 warplanes represents a dangerous curve in the confrontations with the Israelis," it said in the leaflet."Our response would be of a different kind that Israel has not witnessed before," it added.

The leaflet also blasted the European Union, which has put the Hamas movement on a list of terrorist organizations."We were surprised by the latest EU position that gave Israel alegal cover to carry out this crime against our leaders and gavethe Zionists the green light to continue the aggression on our people," the leaflet said.

During a huge demonstration in Gaza City to show support for Yassin, members of the Hamas's armed wing threatened to assassinate Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as a act of revenge. Enditem
