DPRK, S. Korea to push forward railway and road linkages

¡¡¡¡PYONGYANG, Aug 22 (Xinhuanet)-- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and South Korea expressed Friday their determination to push forward the project for reconnecting inter-Korean rail and road links, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

¡¡¡¡During a two-day working contact in Kaesong, the DPRK and South Korea discussed such issues as providing equipment and raw materials, giving technical services such as installing, repairing and maintaining to the provided equipment and vehicles, working out designs of signals, telecommunications and power system and setting up offices for train and motor operation, according to an agreement reached at the end of the contact.

¡¡¡¡Both sides agreed to discuss and fix the date of the 7th working-level contact through exchanging documents in future.

¡¡¡¡The project for relinking inter-Korean railways and roads on the west and east coast of the Korean Peninsula was initiated in September last year. Enditem
