CHANGSHA, Aug. 14 (Xinhuanet) -- A probable food poisoning outbreak resulted
in the hospitalization of 24 people after they ate food from a supermarket in
Changsha, capital of central China's Hunan Province on Thursday.
The victims suffered stomachache, diarrhea and vomiting after eating dried
bean curd, a popular local snack, sold in bulk at the same supermarket in the
city's Yuelu District, Wednesday evening.
Li Dawei, a doctor with the Number Four Hospital of Changsha City, said
that the victims' symptoms showed that it was possibly a food poisoning
incident.
Doctors said 10 victims had recovered and left hospital while the others
were in stable condition, still receiving treatment.
