BEIJING, July 15 (Xinhuanet) -- China welcomes the establishment of the Iraqi Governing Council, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Kong Quan said here Tuesday at a regular press conference.

　　China hopes that the situation in Iraq will stabilize quickly as soon as possible and that the Iraqi people will soon be able tol ead stable lives, said Kong.
