¡¡¡¡BEIJING, June 30 (Xinhuanet) -- France and China shoulder particular responsibility for world peace and stability, both as permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, said French Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie in an interview with Xinhua here Monday.

¡¡¡¡At the invitation of her Chinese counterpart Cao Gangchuan, Alliot-Marie arrived here Sunday for a three-day visit to China. She held meetings with Chinese President Hu Jintao, Chairman of the Central Military Commission Jiang Zemin and Defense Minister Cao here Monday.

¡¡¡¡The meetings with the Chinese side were effective, Alliot-Marietold Xinhua, saying all-round friendly relations have enjoyed smooth development.

¡¡¡¡Alliot-Marie explained that the further development of the strategic friendly relations included several aspects.

¡¡¡¡For high-level exchanges, she said, she has invited the Chinesedefense minister to visit Paris and the chief of the general staff of the French armed forces will pay a visit to China this September, she said.

¡¡¡¡The two sides will also have exchanges of personnel and military experience at various levels, she said.

¡¡¡¡The exchanges will be conducted in the fields of military information, crisis management and health work of the armed forces by the military universities of the two sides, Alliot-Marie added.

¡¡¡¡In May 2002, Alliot-Marie took the post of French defense minister, becoming the first female defense minister in the Frenchhistory. Enditem
