PHNOM PENH, June 17 (Xinhuanet) -- The ASEAN+3 Foreign Ministers' Meeting (10+3) ended here Tuesday after participants exchanged views on further cooperation between ASEAN and three neighbors -- China, Japan and South Korea.

During the short meeting which began late in the afternoon, foreign ministers of ASEAN members and the three countries discussed in detail poverty-alleviation programs and measures for market access for ASEAN export goods, particularly those from the newer ASEAN members.

Based on the recommendations made by the East Asia Study Group (EASG), they called for solid efforts to be made in the priority areas: infrastructure, information technology, human resources development and ASEAN economic integration.

On the Korean Peninsula issue, the foreign ministers emphasized the five-point principle presented by ASEAN: to continue serious concern over the tensions on the peninsula, to support its denuclearization, peaceful settlement of unclear issues, to welcome the three-party talks in Beijing among the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the United States and China, and to play a useful role in solving the unclear issue.

The ASEAN+3 meeting is part of ASEAN Regional Forum, which starts Wednesday and will be participated by over 20 Asia-Pacific countries plus the European Union. Enditem
