MOFTEC promulgated its Notice No.
48 2002 on November 19, 2002, taking 3 years final safeguard measures on
following imported steel products as of November 20, 2002: hot-rolled sheet
metal, cold-rolled sheet metal (belt), color coating plate, non-oriented silicon
steel and cold-rolled stainless sheet steel (belt). Tariff quota of non-oriented
silicon steel will be adjusted to 939,424,806kg during May 24, 2003 to May 23,
2004. Extra-quota tariff rate will remain unchanged.
Other content of
final safeguard measures will be carried out according to Notice 48 2002 and
