Egyptian, Chinese companies sign meat deal

””””CAIRO, Dec. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Egypt's M. Tayea Company signed here Tuesday an 8 million-US-dollar meat contract with a Chinese companyduring a business seminar on promoting trade and economic links between the two countries.

””””Under the deal, the Jindu Cattle Industry Group Corporation fromnortheast China's Heilongjiang Province will export 2,400 tons of beef and 960 tons of mutton to Egypt.

””””Wang Limin, deputy governor of the province, said at the occasion that the two countries are economically complementary, andthere is enormous potential of bilateral cooperation in the areas of agriculture, food processing and equipment industry.

””””A. Sattar Eshrah, secretary general of the Egypt-China Business Council, told the gathering that Egyptian entrepreneurs are very interested in China's economic development and transformation.

””””"They are willing to work with their Chinese counterparts to setup joint ventures and sell products in African and Arab markets," he said.
