¡¡¡¡HANOI, Oct. 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Vietnam Friday said that the Iraq issue must be dealt with by a peaceful means in conformity with the UN Charter and basic rules of international law, avoiding military actions.

¡¡¡¡Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Phan Thuy Thanh made the remarks while answering a question on Vietnam's reaction to the US Senate approving resolution for military action against Iraq.

¡¡¡¡Public opinion including Vietnamese people are very concerned about the development of the situation, said Thanh.

¡¡¡¡Once war happens, its consequence will be very severe not only to Iraq but also to the region and the world, the spokeswoman stressed. Enditem
