ˇˇˇˇGAZA, Sept. 30 (Xinhuanet) -- Israeli soldiers on Monday opened fire and
killed a Palestinian boy in the refugee camp of Balata near the West Bank town
of Nablus, Palestinian medical sources and witnesses said.
ˇˇˇˇThe witnesses said that Israeli soldiers opened fire at a group of children
near the refugee camp of Balata, which has been under the Israeli army curfew
for more than three months, killing and wounding a number of them.
ˇˇˇˇMedical sources at the Nablus Hospital said that a 10-year-old boy was
killed after being shot in the chest, and 18 others were injured.
ˇˇˇˇThe witnesses said that dozens of Palestinian young men threw stones at
Israeli army vehicles near the refugee camp, adding that the soldiers responded
with opening fire at them.
ˇˇˇˇMeanwhile, Israel Radio reported that an Israeli army unit arrested on
Monday morning a Palestinian militant, who is a member of Palestinian leader
Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement.
ˇˇˇˇThe radio said that Mohamed Ommer is on Israeli army's wanted list and he
was accused by Israel of being involved in carrying outattacks against Israelis.
