¡¡¡¡JAKARTA, Sept. 23 (Xinhuanet) -- The Indonesian government on Monday condemned Israel for the intensification of siege and destruction of Palestinian President Yasser Arafat's headquarters in the West Bank city of Ramallah.

¡¡¡¡The Israeli military aggression against the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people represents continued defiance against the will of the international community as reflected in the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, according to the official statement from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

¡¡¡¡It also constitutes the intensification of the much-discreditedattempt to sideline and harm the safety of Arafat. Israel, the statement says, is once again threatening the stability and security of the region and jeopardizing the future of the peace process.

¡¡¡¡The Indonesian government reiterates its support and solidaritywith the Palestinian people, demanding that Israel immediately endits siege and destruction in Arafat's headquarters and comply withthe relevant UN Security Council resolutions.

¡¡¡¡Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim nation, has since the beginning opposed Israeli aggression in Palestine and it has no diplomatic ties with Israel. Enditem
