¡¡¡¡YANGON, Sept. 17 (Xinhuanet) -- Myanmar plans to launch an immunization campaign against measles beginning Sept. 23 to protect those children who missed vaccination during the immunization programs conducted in every February since 1987.

¡¡¡¡About 1.5 million under-five-year-old children will be immunized against the disease during the campaign, according to the Myanmar Ministry of Health.

¡¡¡¡The campaign is assisted by a Canadian government internationalaid agency named CIDA and other agencies.

¡¡¡¡Measles cases are found increasing among children, especially in those areas where the immunization coverage is low.

¡¡¡¡According to the ministry, the campaign will represent the first phase of a program to cover the entire country in the next three years. Enditem
