¡¡¡¡¡¡ BEIJING, Sept. 10 (Xinhuanet) -- Chinese Vice-Premier Qian Qichen met here
Tuesday with Phan Dien, member of the political bureau ofthe Communist Party of
Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, and his entourage.
¡¡¡¡Qian, also member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the
Communist Party of China (CPC), said since President Jiang Zemin's successful
Vietnam visit at the beginning of the year, relations between the two countries
had made new progress.
¡¡¡¡China hoped the two nations would further implement the important consensus
on boosting ties reached by top leaders of theCPC and the CPV, he said.
¡¡¡¡Qian also expressed appreciation for Vietnam's adherence to the"one-China"
policy and its support for China's reunification.
¡¡¡¡Phan said Vietnam cherished its friendship with China, and would strive to
develop relations in line with the policy laid down by the two countries'
