Vietnamese PM calls for more efficiency in policy implementation

 ””””HANOI, Sept. 4 (Xinhuanet) -- Vietnamese Prime Minister Phan Van Khai has called for more efficiency in policy implementation to overcome the government's existing weaknesses.

””””During a government meeting, which is expected to conclude on Wednesday, the prime minister said that over the past two years, Vietnam's economy has developed at a higher level compared to other regional economies.

””””However, the national economic growth hasn't reached the targets set in many development plans, and has been unstable and incompetitive in the process of integration into the world economy.

””””The prime minister expressed the government's resolve to continue boosting corporate restructuring and administrative reforms, saying "In the immediate future, efforts should be focused on dealing with people's complaints and denunciations as well as combating corruption and other social vices."

””””He urged the government office to help the prime minister and his deputies to press ahead with the implementation of economic restructuring in all sectors and regions.

””””Khai also asked every ministry and agency to review the efficiency of its investments in order to ensure concentrated investment in favor of economic restructuring, high product quality and competitiveness, as well as job provisions.
