organizing the 23rd GeneralAssembly of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary
Organization (AIPO) in Hanoi next September.
””””The AIPO General Assembly is seen as an important chance for the country to
raise its profile in the international community. In particular, it will offer
Vietnamese NA Chairman Nguyen Van An,who is the current AIPO chairman, the
opportunity to boost multi-faceted cooperation within the region, and execute
pledges outlined in the Hanoi Action Plan and Hanoi Declaration in July 2001.
