people and their steadfastness to confront US war threatsduring his meeting with
Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Tareq Aziz.
””””The former senior US official told Aziz that public opinion in the United
States and other parts of the world has started to move against the US
administration's possible plans to attack Iraq.
””””For his part, Aziz told Clark that the US administration will face
"fighting people led by a striving leadership" and the "steadfastness and
resistance of Iraqi people will thwart the imperialist plans."
””””"Any aggression by the US administration will vehemently fail," the Iraqi
deputy prime minister added.
””””US President George W. Bush, who accused Iraq of pursuing weapons of mass
destruction and supporting terrorism, has repeatedly vowed to achieve a "regime
change" in Iraq with all the tools at his disposal.
