UN official praises China's contribution in peace-keeping

””””BEIJING, Aug. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Visiting UN under-secretary-general Jean-Marie Guehenno said here Wednesday at a press conference that China has made great contributions to the UN peace-keeping operations.

””””Guehenno said China's attitude to the UN peace-keeping operations is positive. So far, China has sent military observers and civil police officers to UN missions to take charge of engineering, transportation and health care.

””””He expressed his appreciation to Chinese peace-keeping personnel for their self-motivation, self-discipline and the specialized training they received. He said the property of self-discipline is very important for both China and the United Nations.
