International terrorists possibly involved in explosions in Jakarta

ˇˇˇˇJAKARTA, Aug. 21 (Xinhuanet) -- Indonesian National Police chief General Da'i Bachtiar said Wednesday that it is possibly Ramli, the suspect of a series explosions in Jakarta recently, has relationship with an international terrorist network.

ˇˇˇˇBachtiar made the statement before attending the opening ceremony of the exhibition of the Indonesian Cultural Diversity and the Indonesian Unity.

ˇˇˇˇBachtiar said that the suspect has always traveled to overseas,adding that Ramli has just returned from Thailand.

ˇˇˇˇBachtiar also said that in carrying out his action Ramli was supported by a large amount of funds, as it was found from his bank account.

ˇˇˇˇ"I am confident that Ramli has a dominant role in arranging a series of explosions in Jakarta in the past," said Bachtiar, who was quoted by Detikcom online news service.

ˇˇˇˇHe said that Ramli has also had a large network with the domestic violators.

ˇˇˇˇRamli who is an ex-army person, was detained by the police on Tuesday. He was suspected of being involved in the explosion of the Mall Cijantung, the Atrium shopping centers and other public places, in Jakarta.

ˇˇˇˇDuring the searching, the police have found five firearms and some ammunition unearthed from Ramli's front house yard. Enditem
